Parish Clerk resigns!

It was with great regret that the Council has accepted Judith Rollestone’s resignation for personal reasons.

We sincerely hope that her problems are quickly and successfully resolved but in the meantime we must find a new Clerk.  If you know anyone who might be interested please encourage them to contact any Councillor for more details.

A CLERK TO THE COUNCIL AND RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER IS REQUIRED BY BRISLEY PARISH COUNCIL

Applications are invited for the post of Clerk to Brisley Parish Council.  Working from home the position will involve preparation for, and attendance at, all meetings of the Council, as well as the administration of its everyday and financial affairs. There are normally 10 monthly meetings a year.

Previous experience an advantage but training will be given where necessary.The successful candidate will be expected to attend for any training that the Council deems necessary.

Hours:  It is anticipated that the post will involve 25 to 30 hours per month

Salary will be according to the NJC pay Scale.Starting salary will depend on qualifications and experience.

Village Hall, Cinema and Social

The Village Hall continues to host various events and pastimes, hopefully something for everyone.

Our monthly Social coffee, cake and chatter mornings, usually on the second Wednesday of each month at 10.30 offers the chance to sit and pass the time of day with others, everyone is welcome.

Brisley Village Cinema is held on the 3rd Friday of each month, showing a variety of films from comedy to thrillers. We show at 2.30 & 7.30 with doors opening 30 minutes before the film begins. Our feature on March 17th is The Girl on the Train.

On Saturday May 6th we are hosting a Race Night.

Zumba and Pilates classes are held every week in the Hall.

Speedwatch

Speedwatch in the village is now active but in order to maintain a regular watch they could do with more members.  If you are prepared to occasionally offer an hour or two please contact the Parish Clerk, or any Councillor for more details.

 

PLEASE CONTINUE TO RECYCLE YOUR GLASS AT THE VILLAGE HALL BOTTLE BANK TO ENSURE THAT THIS FACILITY REMAINS AND THE CASH COMES BACK TO THE PARISH !

 

Having a Party or Function?

Why not rent the Village Hall. It’s only £7 per hour in the summer and £8 in the winter (to cover heating costs)

Contact your Parish Council

If you have any concerns about village matters you can bring them to the attention of your Parish Council by attending the monthly meeting – normally the first Tuesday in the month – time is set aside at each meeting for villagers to bring up matters of concern. Alternatively contact any Councillor who will be pleased to help in any way possible. A report on the latest Parish Council meeting is normally available in the Upper Wensum Diary and the full minutes are available by contacting the Clerk to the Council or on our website.
