From the Chairman

Parish Clerk resigns!

Appointment of new Clerk and Councillors It is with pleasure that the Council announces the appointment of Sheryl Irving as Clerk and

Responsible Finance Officer , however it is also with regret that we have accepted the resignation of Councillor Jane Dykes. This means that we now

need replacement Councillors for both her and Councillor Stephen Jones.

Are you well informed about local views ?

Do you want to try to make a difference ? Can you identify areas for local improvements and make reasoned, open decisions ?

Are you available to attend monthly meetings ? Are you able to act with due diligence and fairness, upholding the Council’s statutory and legal duties ?

THEN YOUR COUNCIL NEEDS YOU.

Change of Council Officers

At the Parish Council A.G.M. Councillor Edward Coe was elected as Chairman and Councillor Katherine Brown was elected as Vice-chair.

Village Rights of Way

Copies  of the official footpaths through the village for your information and hope that as many people as possible will make use of them are available from any Parish Councillor.

Maintenance of stiles

We would respectfully advise all landowners that it is their responsibility to maintain any stiles on, or leading to, their land so as to avoid accidents due to unsafe stiles.

Dog fouling

The dog warden has been alerted to an increase in fouling in the village so please make sure that you clear up after your dog - don’t get fined !

Allotments

There are still a couple of allotments available. If you are interested contact the Clerk or any Councillor

Village Hall, Cinema and Social

The Village Hall continues to host various events and pastimes, hopefully something for everyone.

Our monthly Social coffee, cake and chatter mornings, usually on the second Wednesday of each month at 10.30 offers the chance to sit and pass the time of day with others, everyone is welcome.

Brisley Village Cinema is held on the 3rd Friday of each month, showing a variety of films from comedy to thrillers. We show at  7.30 with doors opening 30 minutes before the film begins. Our feature on May 19th is A United KIngdom.

Zumba and Pilates classes are held every week in the Hall.

The Hall remains available for hire at competitive rates, please contact Judy Garwood on 01362 668714

Mobile Library

Times and dates for the mobile library in

Brisley are as follows:

14.25 to 14.40 at The Common

14.45 to 15.00 at The Hill, School Road

20th Dec

Speedwatch

Speedwatch in the village is now active but in order to maintain a regular watch they could do with more members.  If you are prepared to occasionally offer an hour or two please contact the Parish Clerk, or any Councillor for more details.

 

PLEASE CONTINUE TO RECYCLE YOUR GLASS AT THE VILLAGE HALL BOTTLE BANK TO ENSURE THAT THIS FACILITY REMAINS AND THE CASH COMES BACK TO THE PARISH !

 

Having a Party or Function?

Why not rent the Village Hall. It’s only £7 per hour in the summer and £8 in the winter (to cover heating costs)

Contact your Parish Council

If you have any concerns about village matters you can bring them to the attention of your Parish Council by attending the monthly meeting – normally the first Tuesday in the month – time is set aside at each meeting for villagers to bring up matters of concern. Alternatively contact any Councillor who will be pleased to help in any way possible. A report on the latest Parish Council meeting is normally available in the Upper Wensum Diary and the full minutes are available by contacting the Clerk to the Council or on our website.
